While Huaqiangbei is well known for its electronics and gadget markets it’s also the home to plenty of fashion shopping and one such place in this mega shopping district is NICO Women’s World Fashion Plaza (女人世界名店), not to be confused with Women’s World one block or so north. Here at NICO you can find 4 floors packed with independent retailers mostly displaying women’s clothes, but there’s also plenty of handbags, shoes, and accessories to be found. There’s also some cosmetics, beauty care products and jewellery. Price: mid-price point, a little above local market prices. At some shops here you’ll be able to haggle for a betterRead More →

If your in the area of King Glory Plaza or either of the two markets at the Nanyang and Haiyan buildings then you might also want to sneak a look around the Jin Kai Plaza, sometimes referred to as JinKai Clothing City. The I think there’s actually three different plazas in the one building here all with their entries on Jiabin Road. JinKai Plaza faces King Glory Plaza and after taking the escalator up there’s several independent shops, selling mostly womens fashion but the first two stores you’ll likely see are worth a look. One features ‘italian designs’ at fair prices and directly opposite is aRead More →

Nanyang-Haiyan Clothing Wholesale markets in Luohu

Located side by side in Luohu, near the King Glory Plaza, are two wholesale markets for clothes and fashion accessories where you can find countless independent retailers/wholesalers spread across the two multi floor buildings. Most locals seem to refer to the market by the name of the building they are located in which is the Nanyang Building and the Haiyan building. The English names, as displayed on the buildings, for the actual markets are the Longteng World Fashion and in the other building the Petrel Fashionable Dresses. The two buildings are side by side and joined by a walkover on the second floor. Most of the traders squeeze themselves, and their stock,Read More →

Dongmen Market – Shenzhen’s Original Shopping Mall

Dongmen Pedestrian Street is a commercial area in Luohu that’s been ticking away for over 300 years and has long been one of Shenzhen’s most popular places for clothes shopping. There’s a lot of cheap stuff here, some of it cheap due to the quality, but there’s also plenty of really good gear to be found at great prices. Be warned, this area is a maze of streets and buildings, and on weekends it really gets busy. If you like relaxed shopping try going during the week and early, most stores open between 10 and 11 am, closing later evening between 9 and 11 pm dependingRead More →
