Dapeng Peninsula Geopark

Dapeng Peninsula Geopark is a rare free national geological park in China. The park has unique ancient volcanic geological relics, unique coastal landscapes, and rare flora and fauna resources.

Dapeng Peninsula Geopark features nature hiking tracks and a large geology museum multimedia displays and a large range of exhibits.

The geological features of the Dapeng Peninsula National Geological Park in Shenzhen are the Mesozoic volcanic geological remnants formed by the volcanic eruptions of the Jurassic to Early Cretaceous 145 million years ago and the typical coast formed between 20,000 and 10,000 years ago. The landscape of the park is dominated by hills, the forests are dense, the peaks of the mountains are stacked, the mountains are steep and the seven peaks are scattered.

Sea Stone Wonder View Area 海石奇观景观区

The coastal landforms in the scenic area are complete in type, covering almost all types of sea erosion landforms known today: sea erosion cliffs, sea caves, sea erosion platforms, sea erosion points and other types of eroded coastal landforms, while large gravel beaches, gravel beaches, beaches and lagoon sand dams.

Buxi Yangmei Scenic Area步溪杨梅景区

It is dominated by the Yangmeikeng geological landscape and contains some ancient volcanic geological relics and the human landscape of Gaoling Ancient Village. The ancient volcanic geological landscape in the scenic area together with the Qiuqiu travel area constitutes complete remains of the ancient volcano of Qiiangshan. At the Yangmei Hangkou and Xiangshui Pit, the scenic spots of the volcanic structure, the lava ball structure and the wrinkled flow structure are displayed.

Paleontological fossil scenic spot 古生物化石景区

Here is the early Jurassic fossil burial site. A large number of fern fossils are preserved in gray-black argillaceous siltstone, which is identified by the Nanjing Institute of Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Maple Fault Scenic Area 枫木断层景区

It mainly includes landscape geological resources such as Maple Wave Reservoir, Maple Wave Fault Zone and Snake Guide Canyon. The main feature of this area is the geological fault landscape.

Luzui Guanchao Scenic Area 鹿嘴观潮景区

The Luzui Guanchao Scenic Area is located in the southeastern part of the park, with a total area of about 10.74 square kilometers. It includes two main scenic spots, the ancient volcanic geological relics and the geological landscape of the Luzui coast.

Qiuqiu Travel Area 穹丘行旅区

The Qiuqiu Travel Area is located in the northwest of Qiiang Mountain, with a total area of about 10.46 square kilometers, including three main scenic spots: the main scenic spot of Qi Niang Mountain, the geological landscape of Qi Niang Mountain and the Geological Museum.

Museum 博物馆

Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geological Park Museum is located in the Dengqiu Travel and Tourism Area of Dapeng Peninsula National Geological Park in Shenzhen. The museum has set up six exhibition halls: Preface Hall, Earth Quest Exhibition Hall, Dapeng Peninsula Exhibition Hall, Mineral Exhibition Hall, City and Geological Environment Exhibition Hall and Temporary Exhibition Hall. There are also 3D science cinemas, multi-purpose lecture halls and outdoor dinosaur exhibitions.
