Da Fen Oil Painting Village
Dafen Oil Painting Village was originally an ordinary village. In 1989, Hong Kong painter Huang Jiang came here to bring the oil painting industry here. Later, more and more oil painters and painters gathered to become the collection of oil paintings in Shenzhen.
The village is full of oil painting workshops. You can watch the process of painting oil paintings on the street. You can also buy all kinds of oil paintings or custom-made. It is also an art trip to go inside.
According to statistics, the annual production and sales of Dafen Village have reached more than 1 million oil paintings, and the annual export earns more than 30 million yuan. It has been praised as the “first village of Chinese oil painting” by domestic and foreign art peers.
It’s free to walk around and admire the many artists at work and maybe even pick up a piece for sale or commission a painting. There are also many alfresco style cafes.
Inside the precinct is Dafen Art Museum (大芬美术馆) which displays key works by local artists.
