Chen Yu’s Former Residence Memorial Hall

It is located in the former residence of Chen Yu (city-level cultural relics protection unit) in Chenwu Village, Nantou, Nanshan District. It was officially opened to the public in October 2000.

The exhibition is based on the important events of various historical periods experienced by Comrade Chen Yu in his life.

It is divided into three parts: the first part is the revolutionary activities of Comrade Chen Yu before the liberation, such as the Hong Kong seafarers’ strike, the provincial and international strikes, and the liberation war. And so on.

The second part is the restoration of Comrade Chen Yu’s living room, which is mainly in kind.

The third part shows Comrade Chen Yu’s contribution to socialist construction, especially to the development of China’s energy industry. It shows the spirit of Comrade Chen Yu’s dedication to the revolution during the war and the service of the people in peacetime.

Chen Yu’s former residence now houses 23 pieces of cultural relics such as letters, documents, books, furniture, and photographs.
