Dongchong Beach

Dongchong Beach area is soft, sandy and generally more relaxed and quiet than other beaches. It’s relatively undeveloped. You can also swim, play beach volleyball and its also a popular spot for surfing. The beach here is surrounded by mountains on three sides, the reefs are everywhere. Nearby is Xichong beach and the coastline is very scenic between the two making it popular with hikers to trek between the two.

Dongchong itself is an administrative village consisting of six natural villages. The order from west to east is Dashili 大石理, Kapok 木棉树, Shangwei 上围, Dawei 大围, Shagang 沙岗 and Chongjie 冲街. It has not been developed on a large scale and has beautiful scenery along the coast. Dongchong Village is the only village in Shenzhen that does not have provincial highways. The villagers live on aquaculture and fishing. The local villagers are less than 500 people. Now they mainly focus on tourism development.
