Nan’ao – The home of Fresh Seafood

Nan’ao Street (referred to as Nanao Street, also known as Nan’ao Town) is located at the southernmost tip of Dapeng Peninsula in the easternmost part of Shenzhen.

The Nanao area is quite large and located in the northeast of Longgang District, east of Daya Bay, west of Dapeng Bay, bordering Dapeng Office in the north, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The coastline is 65 kilometers long and faces Hong Kong across the sea. The shortest distance from Hong Kong is only 2 nautical miles. The land area of the jurisdiction is about 115.06 square kilometers. It has 9 community neighborhood committees and a total of 45 resident groups.

At Nan’ao Town, or Nan’ao Bay, the main attraction here is fresh seafood. Once a busy fishing village and the main source of income in the area, it continues that trade today albeit that tourism is now the main source of income in the wider region. You can buy freshly caught produce or enjoy it cheaply in one of the many seafood restaurants that line the harbor. A popular restaurant is 富强兄弟海鲜餐厅 (address: 海港路7号)
