Carnival Clothing City at Huaqiangbei

Many people who have been to Shenzhen in the past, or lived here for a while will probably remember the old Jiahua Foreign Trade Clothing market which has closed with the building being demolished to make way for another hi-rise. Which is shame, it was a place that really had a lot of character, and lots of cheap clothes.

But fear not, bargain hunters and brand name copy lovers, Carnival Clothing City seems to have filled the gap.

There’s 3 floors of independent shop owners, some stuff is price as marked, but some haggling never goes astray.

There’s a mix of mens and womens clothes, plus some home decorations, plus baby clothes and even kids toys.

There are brand name clothes to be found. Are they original, copies or factory seconds. Who knows, if the price is acceptable, and your happy with the quality, then bag it and go home smiling.

Getting there: Huaqiang North Station, or Yannan Station on Metro Line 2 or Huaqiang Station on Metro Line 1.
